THE CHAIR

After eight years of designing tables, Jason built the chair that had lingered in his mind since 2019.
The confidant of the dining table. The premise of the gathering space.

“A little piece of my mind is woven deep in the grain of this chair.”

PROCESS

Building furniture from wood materials involves making an interpretation of a slab’s individual features and imperfections.
Taking the unseen beauty at the interior of the tree and turning it into something inspiring.
Harnessing potential.

Figured Western Walnut

Handmade with locally salvaged hardwood – giving a second life to fallen trees.
Walnut’s variation in color and grain pattern elicit subtle characteristics that make every piece unique.

The chair design is influenced by Scandinavian and Japanese minimalism and functionality.
Sculpted to comfortably support the human form and upright posture.
Polished with a natural oil and beeswax finish.

A sense of warmth and place.

Nurturing bonds and conversation.

“People gather around furniture pieces like tables and chairs. The quality of these items holds importance.”

Fahlman Furniture embraces the singular value of time spent with those around us.
Crafting functional family heirlooms that offer longevity, timelessness and lasting experiences.

Furniture should be unique and tactile.

Pieces that look better with age. Quality you can touch and feel.
